South Korean Battery Equipment Maker enters North American Market

A South Korean battery equipment maker has entered the North American market for the first time after being chosen as a supplier for SK On's production lines dedicated to Nissan. The company has won a 44 billion won deal to provide tab welding and packaging equipment, which will be used at the Kentucky 1 factory of BlueOval SK, a joint venture between SK On and Ford.The equipment will be used in the production of batteries for Nissan, with half of the factory's 16 production lines dedicated to manufacturing these batteries. This marks an expansion of the company's relationship with SK On, which has previously used its equipment in facilities in China and Hungary.
