China & UAE Sign Major LNG Deal
A significant liquefied natural gas (LNG) deal has been signed between China and the UAE. According to the agreement, the UAE will supply China with approximately one million tonnes of LNG per year for 15 years, starting from 2028. The LNG will primarily come from the UAE's Ruwais LNG project, which will be the first LNG export facility in the Middle East and Africa region to operate on clean power. The project will have a combined capacity of 9.6 million tonnes per year, doubling the UAE's LNG capacity to around 15 million tonnes annually. This deal marks a significant partnership between China and the UAE in the LNG sector, securing a long-term supply of low-carbon-intensity LNG.
